Many modern GM vehicles use advanced encrypted engine control modules that block direct tuning access. The GM E90 ECM Upgrade Service modifies the factory controller so it can be accessed by your Throttle Republic RTD for diagnostics, calibration, and custom tuning.
This service upgrades the factory E90 Engine Control Module, allowing tuners to adjust performance parameters such as fuel delivery, ignition timing, torque management, airflow modeling, and more.
Why This Upgrade Is Needed
Starting in newer GM platforms, the factory E90 ECM includes security restrictions that prevent tuning without modification. The upgrade removes those restrictions so the controller can communicate with HP Tuners software.
Once upgraded and licensed, your vehicle becomes fully tunable through the HP Tuners ecosystem.
