In this video, the student asks about Gen3 and Gen4 performance mode and how it can be used similar to a tow/haul mode.  Bob explains that you can use this for anything transmission related to be switched on the fly.  Basically you can set up performance mode or tow/haul mode to have a different characteristic from your normal driving mode, to instantly switch over to different line pressures, shift schedules and other factors that are characteristic of how the transmission acts.
